About the Show

A spirited musical celebration of legendary Scottish entertainer Harry Lauder, the man Winston Churchill called "Scotland's greatest ever ambassador." By 1911, Lauder had become the highest-paid performer in the world. An international star of music hall and vaudeville, he was the first UK artist to sell over a million recordings and the first knight of the music hall. Known for iconic songs like "I Love a Lassie," "Roamin' in the Gloamin'," and "The End of the Road," Lauder was a pioneering figure whose charm, wit, and warm Scottish spirit made him an enduring symbol of Scottish pride and global entertainment.

Written by Jimmy Logan, adapted by Kally Lloyd-Jones and Jamie MacDougall, and directed by Lloyd-Jones, the production stars MacDougall alongside musician Derek Clark. Produced by Scottish Opera and Loch Doune Productions, and presented at 59E59 Theaters as part of the Brits Off Broadway festival. The Wee Review praised it as "a wee smasher of a treat: big in performance, large in heart and enormous in character."
