The Unknown
About the Show
Emmy and Tony Award winner Sean Hayes (Will and Grace, Good Night Oscar) stars as Elliott, a writer desperate to cure his creative block who retreats to a remote cabin, only to discover he may not be alone. As the boundaries between his work and his life collapse, Elliott begins to question everything he knows. Is he writing a thriller? Living one? Both? A provocative solo thriller written by David Cale and directed by Tony Award nominee Leigh Silverman (Suffs, Violet), The Unknown features Hayes embodying a dozen different characters in a shape-shifting 75-minute performance.
The production, at Studio Seaview in the heart of the Theater District, marks Hayes' return to the New York stage after his Tony Award-winning run in Good Night, Oscar. Music by Isobel Waller-Bridge, scenic design by Studio Bent, and lighting by Cha See create a constantly shifting atmosphere of dread and surprise. The show earned a 10-week engagement with multiple extensions. Ages 12+.
